For more than 60 years, The Culinary Institute of America has been setting the standard for excellence. As a CIA student, you’ll receive an amazingly well-rounded education that will prepare you for the best opportunities in the foodservice and hospitality industry. You’ll develop a broad base of knowledge, a confidence in your skills, and the fluency to move successfully into a career that’s absolutely right for you.
With more than 1,300 hours in the kitchen or bakeshop, you’ll have ample opportunity to practice new skills and techniques. But you’ll also come to understand food, and your comprehensive knowledge of culinary and baking methods will serve as the foundation for everything else you do in your career. You’ll also learn vital interpersonal skills and discover what it takes to be a leader.
Choose from the following programs at the CIA’s Hyde Park, NY campus:
The amount of learning in each of our degree programs is extraordinary. You’ll start with the basics and—as you work your way through the courses—master methods, menus, management, and more. You’ll also gain valuable real-world training during your on-campus restaurant experiences, your externship, and (for bachelor’s students) the Food & Wine Seminar travel semester.
At The Culinary, your courses won’t just change the way you think about food; they’ll change the way you think about the world.
